Riding a four-game winning streak, the Tennessee Lady Vols appear to be back on track after losing four games in six outings. On Thursday, they will look to make it five straight by hosting the Alabama Crimson Tide.
At 21-4 and 9-3 in the SEC, Tennessee has scored two major quality wins in this streak against the Texas A&M Aggies and the Georgia Bulldogs. That has them flirting with the Top 10 again, at No. 11 in both polls again.
If they win their next two games, they will almost certainly be in the Top 10, especially since both have winning records and the Missouri Tigers, their next opponent, are a Top 25 team. However, before Mizzou, Alabama has to be the focus.
The Crimson Tide are 15-10 overall, but they are 5-7 in the conference and No. 94 in the RPI. That’s due to a weak schedule and lack of quality wins.
A few weeks ago, Kristy Curry’s team looked like it would finally take that next step and reach the NCAA Tournament. But recent collapses have changed that. Now, they’re on the outside looking in. Beating Tennessee on the road, however, would be a huge boost for the program and put them closer to the bubble.
So this is a big game for the Tide as well looking to take another step. Here is all the information you need for tonight’s game.
Alabama Crimson Tide at No. 11 Tennessee Volunteers
When: Thursday, Feb. 15 at 6:30 p.m. E.T.
Where: Thompson-Boling Arena; Knoxville, Tenn.

Last week, the Tennessee Lady Vols scored a huge dominant win over the Georgia Bulldogs. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t vulnerable in this game tonight.
After all, before beating Georgia, Tennessee needed a career night from Rennia Davis to put away the Arkansas Razorbacks in an ugly five-point victory. It’s true that the Arkansas game was on the road. But Holly Warlick’s team should not have looked that bad against a struggling opponent like the Hogs.
Despite being No. 7 in the RPI with 21 wins and the No. 11 ranked strength of schedule, our recent bracketology report notes that the Tennessee Lady Vols are currently looking at a No. 3 seed. However, as we mentioned with their upcoming schedule, winning the next two games would almost certainly put them in a No. 2 seeded spot.

Tennessee can’t win the SEC regular season title unless Mississippi State miraculously loses their final four games, which won’t happen. However, they can make a strong statement to close out the year and prove this is a different team from the previous two teams. That starts with this match-up Thursday.
