So they finished 25-8 after a 15-0 start. And yes, they suffered a first-weekend exit from the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year. That doesn’t mean that the Tennessee Lady Vols don’t have players who are worthy of recognition for the season.

Throughout the year, Holly Warlick’s team was made up of players who made huge impacts. These Lady Vols still had key wins against the Texas A&M Aggies, Texas Longhorns, Georgia Bulldogs, and twice over the South Carolina Gamecocks.

So they had to have some talent show up. And they did. In this post, we’re going to dish out our postseason awards for the 2017-2018 Tennessee Lady Vols.

Sure, they didn’t meet expectations. Yes, the morale of the program is at an all-time low. However, we still have to do this. It’s only fair to recognize the individuals who stood out and did what they could to carry the team.

Now, if a player receives one of these awards, it does not mean that they didn’t underachieve. This just means they were the best in the specific categories. Nobody on this team is above criticism after such an early exit from the tournament. Warlick gets the most, but you have to call out the players to a degree.

This is the Tennessee Lady Vols after all. They had two veterans mixed with the No. 1 recruiting class on this team. The talent was there, even if the production wasn’t. But relative to each other, somebody had to stand out in these respective categories.
