Tennessee football has had some recent success when it comes to the NFL Draft. Three quick mentions that are still in the short term memory banks of Vol fans are Josh Dobbs, Alvin Kamara, and Super Bowl Champion, Derek Barnett.

So now we turn out attention to the Vols that have entered the 2018 NFL Draft. Will they get drafted? If so, where are a couple of best landing spots for each player? This article, our attention is turned to the former defensive tackle, Kahlil McKenzie.

Kahlil McKenzie was a five-star recruit in the 2015 recruiting class. He was highly talented being the 6th best recruit in the nation according to 247Sports. He was also the 2nd best from the state of California, which was a huge addition for Tennessee.

However, McKenzie did not live up to his five-star rating. Hold the hate; I’m not bashing Mckenzie just stating facts. Maybe it was coaching or a wrong star rating but nonetheless, not five-star production.

He played in a total of 31 games and had 71 total tackles. He did not quite live up to the five-star, but McKenzie was a solid player during his time on Rocky Top.

Moving forward, McKenzie has an NFL frame. He is a good tackler with a significant downhill push against the offensive line. He also has quick hands that help him get off blocks which makes plugging the middle of the line easier.
