The Cardinals were not going to catch the Rams in last season’s division race. But, they could have had a better season than they did.

The defense showed signs of being really good last season. In week 14 they only gave up seven points to the Tennessee Titans, which was a Titans team that was in the playoffs. They also shut out the Giants in week 16 and yes, I know, it was the Giants, but a shutout in the NFL is still impressive.

What defensive backs are on the Cardinals roster?

The Cardinals and safety, Tyrann Mathieu ended their relationship as he signed a one year deal with the Houston Texans for seven million dollars.

Patrick Peterson (LSU) is the leader for the defense and has started in every single game since when he entered the league in 2011. Statically he had somewhat of a down year with only 34 total tackles, but opposing quarterbacks have stopped throwing his way.

Other players on the roster from the cornerback position are Bene Benwikere (San Jose State), Jarell Carter (Trinity International), C.J. Goodwin (California PA), Jonathan Moxey (Boise State), Brandon Williams (Texas A&M), Marcus Williams (North Dakota State), and Lou Young III (Georgia Tech).

What picks do the Cardinals have?

The Cardinals have seven draft picks in the 2018 NFL Draft. Arizona has two picks in the third round, one in the fourth, fifth, and sixth.

Now, it would be silly to say Gaulden could replace Tyrann Mathieu for the Cardinals but he could turn into a solid starter on any NFL team with the right coaching.
