It’s been a crazy week for Jeremy Pruitt and Tennessee football on the recruiting trail. With all the coverage of the NFL Draft, the Vols have been offering players left and right for 2019, going after everybody they can target.
The most notable of Tennessee football’s offers went to Marcus Washington. A four-star wide receiver on Rivals from Trinity Catholic in St. Louis, Mo., Washington announced the offer from the Vols on Twitter.
At 6’2″ 195 pounds, Washington already brings pretty solid size to the position. He is currently fielding offers from nearly 40 schools and is ranked the No. 127 player nationally, the No. 22 player at his position and the No. 2 player in the state of Missouri.
In addition to Washington, the Vols offered his teammate at Trinity Catholic, 2019 prospect Ira Henry. Henry is a three-star offensive lineman on Rivals who announced Tennessee football’s offer to him as well.
At 6’5″ 320 pounds, Henry already has amazing size for an offensive lineman. He could bring a lot to the table for the Vols, which is why this is such a huge offer for them overall. He is currently fielding interest from 21 schools and is a Top 20 ranked player in the state of Missouri.
The Vols also went to Virginia to make an offer on Thursday. They extended one to Ah’Shawn Moore. A linebacker at Indian River High School in Chesapeake, Va., Moore has not yet been given any ratings on Rivals. However, he is listed as a four-star on GoVols247. He also announced the offer on Twitter.
In addition to these three guys, Tennessee football re-offered another player for 2019. They reached out to four-star wide receiver Cam Coleman, a 5’11” 189-pound target. Coleman also announced the re-offer on Twitter.
Based on Thursday’s work and what they did earlier in the week, Pruitt and his staff are clearly going hard after wide receivers right now for 2019. That’s a good thing too considering they are already thin at the position.
