2. Indiana Hoosiers

Coming in at number two on our list is the Indiana Hoosiers. Maybe it is just me but when I think of college basketball a few teams come to mind, and one is the Indiana Hoosiers.

  • You can find the Hoosiers playing at Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Indiana. Although Assembly Hall opened in 1972, it is one of the most unique arenas in college basketball and one of the most storied. It consistently ranks in the top 20 in attendance each year.

Back at the start of the 1970’s Bob Knight was the man that brought dominance back to Bloomington. Knight was 662-239 in his time with the Hoosiers. And, one of the best coaches in program history.

Since Knight, there hasn’t been much success. Tom Crean was a great coach but inherited a horrible situation in Bloomington. Honestly, he made the best of his roster but it wasn’t enough to keep him around. The firing of Crean was a bit unexpected especially considering what he was dealing with.

However, even when Indiana isn’t at it’s best, they would still be a good team for a home and home with the Vols. It’s safe to say that Thompson-Boling would sell out if the Hoosiers came to town. And, the same could be said about Assembly Hall if a top ten ranked Vols came to town.
