Vols add a third offensive lineman to the 2019 class with the commitment from Chris Akporoghene on Monday afternoon.

Another day brings another recruit that commits to Jeremy Pruitt and the Vols. The good news from the recruiting standpoint is becoming a trend for the Tennessee football program in the early stages of a rebuilding journey.

Chris Akporoghene Jr. is a 6-foot-4, 290-pound three-star offensive lineman of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. According to 247Sports Composite, he is ranked 772 nationally as the 72nd best offensive tackle. He also ranks as the 107 ranked recruit in Flordia in the 2019 class.

Akporoghene announced his decision on Twitter Monday afternoon in a cool video. Take a look at it here. Spoiler alert: it is a pretty cool way to announce his decision.

Akporoghene plays a physical style of play which is what Pruitt and company are looking for out of the offensive line position. He has a big frame which will help him come in and immediately improve the Vols. And, with the Vols struggling on the offensive line, Akporoghene will have a good chance to compete for a starting job.

With other big-time offers on the table that included Oregon, Nebraska, Texas, Auburn, Florida, Miami, Michigan, Florida State, Clemson, it was impressive that Akporoghene picked Tennessee. It just shows that Pruitt is here to be the best in the SEC and the nation again.

With the commitment, Akporoghene joins four-star Jackson Lampley of Montgomery Bell Academy and five-star Wanya Morris of Grayson High School as the third offensive linemen of the 2019 class. Akporoghene plans to graduate in December and enroll at Tennessee in January.

This is a massive get for Pruitt as he looks to build a line that can compete in the SEC. Having big 290 pounders is a start. Look for the Vols to add more to an already impressive 2019 recruiting class.
