No.4 – Dylan Weigel, Linebacker

Redshirt Senior linebacker Dylan Weigel comes in as one of our players to watch. Last week against Mars Hill, Weigel racked up two solo tackles and ten total tackles

Last season he started all 11 games and led the Bucs with 92 total tackles. 45 of those were solo, and he also had two fumble recoveries. Weigel is the type of player that you’ll see all over the field and one that seems like he is involved in every single tackle.

In the 2016 season, Weigel finished the season with 106 total tackles, which again led the team. That season against the Chattanooga Mocs, Weigel had a season-high 12 tackles. He also was named to the Second Team All-SoCon team.

Believe it or not, but in the 2015 season, Weigel totaled for a team-high 127 total tackles. He also led the FCS in solo tackles with 79.

One thing for sure can be said about Weigel; the dude knows how to tackle. When the Volunteer runnings backs get to the second level they are going to have a hard time making Weigel miss.

We think Weigel could have a good chance at building a double-digit tackle game against the Vols. If not, he sure will be close.
