No.5 – Nasir Player, Defensive lineman

Nasir Player is a 6-foot-5, 271-pound defensive lineman that should cause havoc for a struggling Tennessee offensive line. If the Vols’ offensive line doesn’t get any better, Player could rack up some tackles for loss in a hurry.

More from All for Tennessee

Last season he was named a first-team All-SoCon player. Player started in all 11 games and had 67 tackles. He also added seven sacks which was good enough for second in the league.

In 2016 as a freshman, Players was named to the Southern Conference All-Freshman Team.

The guy can flat out ball. He is quick off the line and disputes the passing game in a hurry.

One of the things that have brought Player success is his high motor and will to be the best. Coaches say he gives the best effort in practice and that translates to the game extremely well.

We wouldn’t be a bit surprised if Player ends up with a sack, maybe two and a handful of tackles. Playing in Neyland Stadium won’t affect him in the slightest.

We look for a big game out of Player and Tennessee is going to have to block a little bit better to keep him contained.
