No.3 – Ty Chandler will lead both teams in rushing yards

Ty Chandler is explosive and always is one of the most dynamic players on the field. He has electric speed and is great at catching the ball out of the backfield.

  • Last week against Auburn, Chandler displayed why he needs 20 touches a game at a minimum. He finished with 16 carries for 50 yards and added five receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown.

Despite missing two games, Chandler leads the Vols with 297 yards. He is averaging 5.3 yards per carry which ranks behind fellow teammate Madre London at 5.5 yards per carry for second best on the team.

Chandler’s best game of the season came against UTEP when he reeled off 158 yards on 12 carries and added a touchdown.

How does that fare against the Alabama running backs?

Najee and Damien Harris both have over 400 rushing yards on the season, and both have four touchdowns apiece. But, neither have a game as good as Chandler’s 158 against UTEP.

Running on Alabama’s defense won’t be easy. Their defense ranks 33rd in the nation by only giving up 125.1 yards per game. However, if the Guarantano and the passing attack can be productive, the running game will open up, and Chandler could lead both teams in rushing.
