No.3 – “Butch Jones’ actions were not necessary”

Former Vols head coach Butch Jones is a clown, and everyone knows that. He lied to Vol nation too many times for them to have empathy for such a dishonest human being. Then comes the excuses. He made an excuse for everything, and most didn’t make sense and were unjustified.

  • His tenure became ugly near the end. He even started blaming the media for his wrongdoings and his inability of running a program as storied as Tennessee.

However, what was he supposed to do? The Gatorade bath looked ridiculous, but it wasn’t like Butch told the players to do that. There are a few explanations for the bath. The Crimson Tide players are idiots and don’t understand the situation. They think showing love to Butch somehow hurts Vol fans’ feelings. Spoiler, it doesn’t.

Secondly, maybe the players are smarter than we are giving them credit for and they are merely making fun of him. This explanation would be great if true. However, I tend to believe the players aren’t smart enough to realize the situation.

Now, on to the pictures Jones allowed to be taken of him smoking a victory cigar. Shameful for sure but the man has proved time and time again he has no shame. But, again, I go back to my initial question, what was he supposed to do? Tell his current team he isn’t celebrating with them?

Butch didn’t want to leave Tennessee; the fans wanted him gone. I believe Butch acted fine and now that the game is in the rearview mirror, so is he.
