No. 9 Florida Gators vs. No. 7 Georgia Bulldogs

Saturday, Oct. 27 at 3:30 p.m. E.T.; TIAA Bank Field; Jacksonville, Fla.

TV: CBS; Line: Georgia -6.5; Over/Under: 52

I love watching this game every single week. However, I hate that the game is played in Jacksonville. More of these neutral site games need to be home-and-home.

This game has huge SEC East implications. But, let’s face it, no one is beating Alabama. Coming into the season, most people thought the Bulldogs would be just as good as last year. However, that is not the case. Georgia is struggling to run the football.

The Gators are on the other hand are having a fantastic season. Dan Mullen has his offense rolling. They don’t look great all the time, but they are scoring enough points to win.

Georgia got blown out against LSU a couple of weeks ago. Their offense was not in sync the entire game. Meanwhile, Florida beat LSU the week before. While Georgia may be the more talented team, Florida is out on a mission to take control of the SEC East. Both offenses have struggled throughout the year. This will be a defensive slugfest.

Whoever can come up with the fewest mistakes on offense and take care of the ball is the team that will win this game. This will be a very fun game to watch! Ultimately, the Gators will find a way to upset the Bulldogs in grand fashion.

This is a classic case of overreacting. After beating Tennessee football, the Florida Gators had everybody overreact to them beating the LSU Tigers the next week. Then the Georgia Bulldogs beat Tennessee football, and everybody overreacted to them losing to the LSU Tigers two weeks later. Yes, I know, I’m using that to justify Florida ahead of Georgia in my current SEC Power Rankings right now.

However, that has nothing to do with projection. The fact is, LSU lost at Florida. Georgia lost at LSU. Both places are huge home field advantages. In this version of the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, which could decide the SEC East, College Football Playoff hopes and is the game of the week, I’ve got Kirby Smart’s Dawgs with the advantage coming off the bye. Their balance will be enough to shut down Dan Mullen’s spread, and they have the talent. So Georgia wins and covers. There will also be enough offense, shockingly, for this to hit the over.
