Tennessee football’s win over the Kentucky Wildcats was a complete game with lots of great performers. Here are the top five Volunteers from the victory.

This is honestly not fair. Tennessee football had a ton of players do their part en route to a thrilling 24-7 win against the Kentucky Wildcats Saturday at Neyland Stadium. The Vols executed a perfect game plan that Jeremy Pruitt put together.

In the process, numerous great performers stood out. There were three clear guys who were better than everybody else, but after that you had a lot of players who could have been named. Everybody did their part.

So in the end, Tennessee football used a complete game to prove they are still the Vols and Kentucky is still Kentucky. It was a thing of beauty on Rocky Top that fans in Knoxville were thrilled to have witnessed.

However, here’s where the negative part comes in. When we dole out Smokey Points, we only give five a week. Sometimes, we have to search for five players, but this was a game in which we had to cut out a few players.

We weighed the stat line of performers in the game along with the impact their big plays had. The combination gave us the final two players to name, one who got on there because of his impressive stat line and another who made specific crucial plays to win while also putting together a decent stat line. But there were other players who could have fit the bill.

As we said, though, the top three performers were obvious, which you’ll see soon enough. And the top player of the game was the most obvious call we’ve made in a while. But who else made the list? Take a look here with our five Smokey Point winning Vols after Tennessee football’s dominating victory over the Kentucky Wildcats.
