This spot came down to Marquez Callaway, Ty Chandler, Shy Tuttle and Jarrett Guarantano. Any of them could have made the list, and the ones that didn’t make it at least deserve honorable mention. Chandler didn’t make it because he had a bad fumble.

Tuttle and Guarantano were both critical, though, as Tuttle did have a key field goal block in the fourth quarter when Kentucky could’ve made it a two-score game and also assisted in a tackle for a loss, while Guarantano was the quarterback and threw two touchdown passes with no interceptions. But, in the end, we had to go with Callaway, as he made the most impressive plays.

Callaway stands out for the Hail Mary at the end of the first half. That touchdown put Tennessee football in complete control of the game, up 17-0. Now, yes, Guarantano made the throw. But the catch was more impressive than the throw. On top of that, Callaway had a reception on that same drive to set up the touchdown.

So the junior receiver had two receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, he had an 18-yard punt return that helped set up the Vols’ early field goal to go up 3-0. Although he only had three touches all game, Callaway made them count. They made for 10 points, so he belongs on this list.
