4. Are there any Vols commitments who decommit?

As we said in our opening slide, Tennessee football currently has 20 commitments for 2018. According to the VolQuest Early Signing Period Primer by Jesse Simonton, there are 16 of them set to sign with the Vols during this period. That means there are 16 guys Vols fans will want to make sure follow through. And there are four others whose every move they will want to follow.

The names who weren’t on that list included three-star defensive end Jalil Clemons of Starkville, Miss., four-star defensive back Anthony Harris of Havelock, N.C., four-star junior college linebacker Lakia Henry out of Dodge City Community College in Dodge City, Kan., and three-star defensive tackle LeDarrius Cox out of Mobile, Ala. These are all guys the Vols could use immediately.

As a result, pay attention to what they do and to what anybody else expected to sign does. After all, while Tennessee football definitely needs to make more of a splash to beef up its recruiting class, the last thing that Jeremy Pruitt can afford is to lose out on some of the guys who have already laid the foundation for 2019.

Similar to Quavaris Crouch, it’s more likely no news happens here than some news. But opposite to Crouch, it’s going to be bad news if anything does stand out. As a result, this is one storyline to pay attention to throughout the period. And if somebody doesn’t sign in time, that is definitely going to be a concern.
