4. There are few proven upperclassmen on the team.

We already mentioned Lou Brown, a sixth-year senior. She is joined by Kamera Harris as the only two seniors on the team. And Brown has no experience playing with the Tennessee Lady Vols, while Harris has never averaged more than seven minutes a game. Also, Harris joins Brown as a post player at 6’3″.

Simply put, there aren’t a ton of proven upperclassmen on this team. Last year, Cheridene Green and Meme Jackson were the veterans leading everybody. This year, Brown and Harris have to be that, and their limited experience on Rocky Top can be a bit concerning. But it could also be exciting for Kellie Harper as she tried to rebuild the program.

After all, this means Harper will likely have some key players returning her second year. Two juniors, Rennia Davis and Kasiyahna Kushkituah, have experience playing with this team, and Davis is a star. Jaiden McCoy is a redshirt junior, but she joins Brown and Harris as upperclassmen with no significant experience in the program.

Everybody else is either a freshman or a sophomore. So Harper has a young team to work with this year, and that can be exciting. But that could also cause a lot of growing pains for a fan base that is concerned about the direction of the Tennessee Lady Vols as a program given what has happened the past few years. And that leads us to our next major storyline for the program.
