UTSA Roadrunners at Texas A&M Aggies

Line: Texas A&M -38; Over/Under: 53.5; TV: SEC Network

Saturday, Nov. 2 at Noon ET; Kyle Field; College Station, Texas

After playing the Texas State Bobcats earlier in the year, Jimbo Fisher’s team now gets to face Texas San Antonio. With his one FCS opponent being Lamar University, the Texas A&M Aggies loaded up their non-conference schedule this year with Texas cupcakes to counter their one big game against the Clemson Tigers. When you play in the SEC West, that’s fair.

Anyway, Fisher’s team has been hitting pars all year. At 5-3 and 3-2 in the SEC with losses to the Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers, they are in the midst of their first two-game winning streak this season. And this non-conference game is a chance for them to make it a three-game winning streak.

UTSA comes in with a 3-4 record, and their last outing was a 31-27 victory over a winless Rice Owls team. But they did come off a bye, and bowl eligibility is still on the table. So they come in with something legitimate to play for. They are the best win of the year for the 6-1 UAB Blazers, Tennessee football’s Saturday opponent. Texas A&M has to be ready.

Prediction

This is a very high spread to bet on. UTSA is better than Texas State, and the Aggies only won that game by 34, failing to cover. It’s advisable to stay away from this bet. But we can’t do that. So coming off a bye, our take is that UTSA will avoid allowing A&M to cover. This game won’t hit the over, though, as UTSA just won’t score enough.

Texas A&M: 42 UTSA: 10 (UTSA +38; Under 53.5)
