Conventional wisdom would say that we should have the Missouri Tigers higher. However, they have the longest losing streak in the league outside of the Arkansas Razorbacks at this point, so the Hogs are the only team we can put them above in our SEC Power Rankings heading into the final week of the season.

Coming off their 24-20 loss to the Tennessee Vols, they have now lost two games at home. Before that, we said they were simply a team that was great at home and horrible on the road. But with no road wins still and now two home losses, Barry Odom’s team has been falling apart for a while now. Going from 5-1 to 5-6 is disastrous.

And don’t forget that Mizzou’s one loss before this losing streak was to a Group of Five school, also the Wyoming Cowboys, on the road. Now, at 5-6, they have to wonder in two ways about whether or not they’ll make a bowl. One includes reaching eligibility to win. The other includes their season-long bowl ban appeal to the NCAA, which still hasn’t reached a conclusion.

All they can control, though, is getting bowl eligible. And to do that, they have to beat the Hogs. Now, Arkansas may be the worst team in the league. But Mizzou is winless on the road. So here is their test. If they win, we’ll move them up in these rankings. Until then, they’re here.
