Scouting Report. Cody Brown. 5. player. Pick Analysis. Running Back. 4-star. 839

One of the things Tennessee football immediately needs is another elite running back. Ty Chandler, Tim Jordan and Carlin Fils-Aime are all seniors. Sure, Eric Gray is a rising sophomore. Meanwhile, Tee Hodge and Jabari Small are both commitments to this previous class, and they are a power and all-purpose back respectively. So Jeremy Pruitt is loaded with diversity at the position.

However, Hodge and Small are both three-stars. So there’s no depth of proven talent on the roster beyond this year unless five-star Zachary Evans is a late commitment. And even if he is, the Vols need more elite help. Without any real in-state talent, UT needs to go national, and that’s where a guy like Cody Brown can come into play out of Parkview High School in Lilburn, Ga.

A four-star on Rivals, Brown would be another power back at 6’0″ 211 pounds, where the Vols need more proven help. He is already a top 70 player nationally and a top five player at his position and in the state of Georgia. So he brings incredible talent.

There are no favorites and no predictions on the Rivals FutureCast and 247Sports Crystal Ball, but UGA is the favorite by a plurality on the Rivals FanFutureCast. However, with Jay Graham back in Knoxville and all the Georgia connections, the Vols are in great shape to make a run at this guy. They need to make a heavy run at him.
