Athlete. 3-star. player. 839. Pick Analysis. Jantzen Dunn. 15. Scouting Report

Despite the Kentucky Wildcats’ resurgence as a program under Mark Stoops, Tennessee football shouldn’t give up on targeting solid players from that state. Jantzen Dunn is one of those players. A three-star athlete out of South Warren High School in Bowling Green, Ky., Dunn could play wide receiver or cornerback at the college level.

The big need for the Vols right now is more depth at wide receiver, but that could change depending on how this class goes. Either way, at 6’2″ 175 pounds, Dunn brings a solid size to the program and could be an immediate help for Jeremy Pruitt, particularly if he puts on about another 20 pounds and grows another inch or two.

Given that potential, he is actually a four-star on 247Sports Composite. And he is a top 30 athlete nationally on Rivals. Rocky Top is competing with the Louisville Cardinals, Oklahoma Sooners and Miami Hurricanes for the prospect, and the Rivals FanFutureCast has Kentucky as the favorite by a plurality to land him. So there are lots of different ways he could be pulled.

However, UT is clearly in play. There would be nothing wrong with them expanding a slight footprint into that region. It’s close enough to Ohio anyway, and Shelton Felton now has connections there after coaching with the Akron Zips for a year. That’s why he is a prospect worth targeting heavily over the next few months.
