Other top prospects high on Vols

Note: These are prospects high on Tennessee football who don’t quite have the star-rating across the board of the elite prospects we mentioned. However, they could still end up in Knoxville, which is why we are bringing them up.

Malachi Bennett

  • Ratings: Three-star (Unanimous)
  • Size: 6’2″ 185 pounds
  • Hometown: Fairfield, Ala.
  • High School: Fairfield

Fairfield, Ala. is one of the spots Jeremy Pruitt and his staff are already familiar with on the recruiting trail. In 2020, three-star edge rusher Reginald Perry came from there. In Malachi Bennet, the Vols are going for one of his high school teammates. Bennett has no favorites yet on the Rivals Future Cast, but UT is among his top schools. They should keep pursuing him.

Velltray Jefferson

  • Ratings: Three-star (Unanimous)
  • Size: 6’4″ 210 pounds
  • Hometown: Fresno, Calif.
  • High School: Edison

Although he is listed as an athlete on 247Sports, Velltray Jefferson is clearly a wide receiver. Standing at 6’4″, his weight is listed a 210 pounds on Rivals but other services suggest it could be as much as 230 pounds. Taking that into account, Jefferson would provide great size at wideout. Again, there are no favorites yet for the California prospect, bu UT is in play.

Jeremy Naborne

  • Ratings: Not rated
  • Size: 6’1″ 200 pounds
  • Hometown: Corona, Calif.
  • High School: Centennial

There is no rating yet for Jeremy Naborne, but the Vols clearly see something in this second California prospect, as they have given him an offer. It seems like the interest is mutual, as he is reportedly high on Rocky Top. We can’t explain this one, but there’s a strong chance he ends up in Knoxville in 2021.
