Scouting Report. Quarterback. 4. player. 839. Pick Analysis. 6'4; 215 pounds. Jarrett Guarantano

Hometown: Lodi, N.J.

Inconsistency has been an issue for Jarrett Guarantano throughout his time on Rocky Top. However, every single year with Tennessee football, the product of Bergen Catholic High School in New Jersey had a different offensive coordinator. This will be his first year in a system that he played in the previous season, meaning it’s the first where he really can show what he has.

If the season doesn’t happen, it will be a cruel joke on Guarantano. Despite his issues, the guys has shown tons of promise when he gets in rhythm. He’s clutch, leading three fourth-quarter comebacks last year late in the season, and his overall stats show a high level of efficiency. In fact, that alone could sell him to NFL scouts.

Guarantano has completed over 60 percent of his passes under Jeremy Pruitt for28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, and he’s averaged over eight yards an attempt. He dipped to 59 percent last year under Jim Chaney, but his averaged jumped to eight and a half yards an attempt. Now, with more familiarity, he has a chance to shine.

Even with new receivers, Guarantano has a great chance to take a giant leap. He has openly expressed that he wants to play too. This is his year to prove himself as an NFL talent, and taking that away from him would be incredibly unfair. As a result, he definitely deserves a chance.
