College football Week 11 SEC and top 25 picks by Dean Zulkofske
Here are Dean Zulkofske’s college football Week 11 picks for SEC and top 25 games.
Up until this point, Tennessee football had avoided any COVID-19-related cancellations through seven weeks of the 2020 college football season. That changed this week when their scheduled opponent for this week, the Texas A&M Aggies, reported multiple positive coronavirus tests in the football program.
The Vols and the Aggies are re-scheduled to face off on Dec. 12 in Neyland Stadium. UTwon’t be the only ones missing this week due to COVID-19. four games in the SEC won’t take place this week, all of which have been rescheduled to take place in December.
Without any Top 25 matchups taking place this weekend, there are only three SEC games for us to pick from in college football’s Week 11. Before we dive into those, let’s check out how I did last week and how I’ve so far in 2020.
Week 10 performance
Straight up: 5-2
Gambling picks: 11-3
- 5-2 against the spread
- 6-1 over/under
Overall performance for 2020
Straight up: 38-14
Gambling picks: 54-50
- 26-26 against the spread
- 28-24 over/under
Last week was without a doubt our monster week of the season. The only honest beat was Tennessee football against the Arkansas Razorbacks, a game we knew would go either way in terms of the spread and total and we were just on the wrong side of. Just a few matchups to choose from this Saturday, let’s make it a sweep.
Vanderbilt +17.5; Over: 41.5
Vanderbilt loses again this week, but much like their matchup last week against the Mississippi State Bulldogs, this spread is too big for them not to cover. Expect the Commodores to keep this close, but there isn’t much of a chance the Kentucky Wildcats lose this game. Though they’ve struggled to put up points in their last two games, look for their offense to come alive here.
Arkansas +17.5; Under: 59.5
Following a strong performance against the Vols, Arkansas is taking a step up in competition when they roll into Gainesville. The Gators, on the other hand, are looking to bolster their resume and make the SEC Championship game. Losing to the Razorbacks here wouldn’t help. Although that doesn’t seem likely, 18 points are too many for Florida to cover against the Hogs.
South Carolina +12.5; Over: 70.5
Don’t let this high total scare you. Though the Gamecocks only posted three points against Texas A&M, the Ole Miss Rebels’ defense they face on Saturday is far less dangerous than the Aggies’ defense that stuffed them. As for the spread, what have the Rebels shown to prove they’re a lock to ever win by double digits? Ole Miss wins again in a high scoring affair but steer clear of the -11.
