Scouting Report. Jimmy Calloway. 3. player. Pick Analysis. Wide receiver. Sophomore. 839

6’0″ 190 pounds; Hometown: Morrow, Ga.

Plenty of receivers could make this list. TTU doesn’t have much of a pass defense, so it’s likely somebody steps up and makes a big play. Since we don’t know who the quarterback is yet, we honestly have no idea who in the passing game will step up, so it’s really just a shot in the dark, but if you have to bet on somebody, Jimmy Calloway may be the right guy.

Last week, Calloway had a bit of a breakout game with three catches for 59 yards and a key second-quarter touchdown. He truly showed why he was once a four-star receiver and just how lethal he can be when the ball is in his hands.

It’s obvious Tennessee football doesn’t want to rely too heavily on its top receivers in this game, but Calloway is in the process of proving whether or not he’s a top receiver. Josh Heupel and co. likely want to find out if last week was a fluke.

As a result, they will likely give him even more looks against the Golden Eagles, at least early. Pay attention to see if he is able to make big plays to put the game out of reach. We’ve learned enough about Cedric Tillman and know what we need to know about Velus Jones Jr., so this is Calloway’s time to prove last week wasn’t a fluke.
