Pick Analysis. Junior. player. 839. Scouting Report. Defensive end. Byron Young. 4

6’3″ 235 pounds; Hometown: Georgetown, S.C.

We could have Tyler Baron on here, as he’s been key each of the last two weeks with a sack in the opener against BGSU and then two and a half tackles for a loss against Pitt. However, the guy he was supposed to split time with when the season began is the one who makes this list now.

Junior college transfer Byron Young had the same offseason hype at edge rusher as Baron. However, Young was forced to miss the first two weeks due to. an eligibility issue. Well, according to Josh Heupel, he’s finally set to return to the field, and a team like TTU is the perfect opportunity for him to tune up.

The Golden Eagles aren’t just a bad FCS team, but they are bad at pass protection specifically. They have allowed three sacks in each game, good for No. 93 out of 114 teams in FCS play. Simply put, Tennessee football should have plenty of opportunities to get to the quarterback.

As part of that, Young should be able to have a great first outing with the Vols. This will give us somewhat of an idea as to just how valuable he is. Given how great Matthew Butler was in the middle last week, Young should have plenty of chances to make big plays.
