Oxford, Miss.. Saturday, Oct. 23. CBS. 3:30 p.m. ET. 4-3 (2-2). 817. 5-1 (2-1). 841

Gambling odds according to WynnBET:

  • Line: Ole Miss -10
  • Over/Under: 75
  • Moneyline: Ole Miss -350; LSU +280

They just keep surviving. For the second straight week, Lane Kiffin’s Ole Miss Rebels won a game on the final play, beating Tennessee football 31-26 on the road. Also, for the second straight week, they were faced with accusations of faking injuries, and that combined with fan outrage at officiating led to a very infamous outburst late in the game.

Either way, Ole Miss’ only loss remains to the Alabama Crimson Tide, and they are No. 12 in both polls. Now, they return home for what should be a wild game in so many ways against LSU Tigers. There are multiple reasons it should be wild. LSU just upset the Florida Gators to revive its morale. It then announced Ed Orgeron would be gone at the end of the year.

Finally, though, Kiffin is rumored to as a potential candidate for the LSU job. As a result, we don’t know how LSU will respond to all of this, and we don’t know how Ole Miss will respond to all of this. What we do know is that it makes Saturday’s matchup at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium extremely interesting.

Prediction

Matt Corral got hurt late against Tennessee football. That’s enough for me to take the under in this game. That combined with what Orgeron knows about Kiffin is enough for me to say LSU covers. However, amidst all that the Rebels still pull out the win by nature of being at home. It’ll just be an ugly win.

Ole Miss: 35 LSU: 31 (LSU +10; Under 75)
