Returning contributors

Keyen Green

  • 6’1″
  • Senior
  • Philadelphia, Pa.

Last year, Keyen Green transferred to the Tennessee Lady Vols from the Liberty Flames and was expected to become a major contributor. She showed signs through four games, starting all four while averaging 6.8 points and 3 rebounds. However, she then suffered a season-ending knee injury in a December practice, which was devastating for this team’s depth.

Now, Green is back, and with Rennia Davis gone, she has even more pressure to deliver at the four. Add in the season-ending injury to Marta Suárez, and her return goes from being a plus to being a necessity. Expect Green to shoulder a much larger role this year.

Emily Saunders

  • 6’5″
  • Junior
  • Mullens, W. Va.

Obviously, Tamari Key is the starting center. However, Emily Saunders was in the same recruiting class with her. Kasiyahna Kushkituah’s departure affects Saunders more than anybody else, as she will now be the one to step in at backup center.

Saunders has a lot of potential. Last year, she appeared in 16 games and averaged just over four minutes. However, she still averaged 1.1 rebounds a game, so she used her size to her advantage when she was in there. With more minutes this year, she could be in line for a breakout year.
