The Big Ten East is on the line here. If the Michigan State Spartans win this game, they clinch their division. However, if the Ohio State Buckeyes win, then next week’s matchup between them and the Michigan Wolverines will determine who wins.

Michigan State rebounded from a loss to the Purdue Boilermakers two weeks ago by dominating the Maryland Terrapins. Mel Tucker is another coach Tennessee football could have had. His team is No. 7 in the College Football Playoff and AP Poll rankings and No. 8 in the Coaches Poll. Losing to Purdue means they have to win to capture the East, but they overachieved no matter what.

On the other hand, Ohio State and Ryan Day are on a mission to prove to everybody how elite they rare after that early-season loss to the Oregon Ducks. Looking that good, including blowing out Purdue last week, is getting them rewarded, as they are No. 4 in the CFP and Coaches Polls and No. 5 in the AP Poll.

Prediction

This line may seem like way too much, but the fact is Ohio State has been too dominant for too long. They won’t overlook Michigan State at Ohio Stadium with the West on the line, and the Spartans don’t have the horses to stay with them. Add in nice weather, and Ohio State’s offense takes off, allowing them to cover while this game hits the over.
