2. Justin Williams

Running back; Dallas, Ga.

By far the most likely player for Tennessee football to land during this period, Justin Williams will add to what’s becoming a stable of elite running backs on Rocky Top. Even with the transfer of Tiyon Evans, the Vols have a star in Jabari Small, a future superstar in Jaylen Wright and a reliable power back in Len’Neth Whitehead.

A four-star across the board out of East Paulding High School in Georgia, Williams stands between 5’11” and 6’0″ while weighing in the range of 200 to 210 pounds. He is more of a complete running back, so if the Vols are able to get him to Rocky Top, there’s a chance he could become a starter immediately despite how deep the unit is.

Dylan Sampson is the only running back currently committed for 2022. UT is the favorite to land Williams by an overwhelming majority on the 247Sports Crystal Ball and the Rivals Future Cast. They are a plurality favorite on the Rivals Fan Future Cast.

It seems as if the biggest competition for him are the West Virginia Mountaineers, where he was committed from July to mid-November. Williams seems likely to commit this week, so if the Vols can fight off WVU, this is where their splash could be.
