Stocks to sell

Kicking

Chase McGrath hit both field goals, including a 47-yarder. Paxton Brooks pinned two punts inside the 20-yard line. This was the best overall game by Tennessee football’s kickers in a while. However, given what we had seen leading into the week, it’s hard to assume that’s going to keep up. They just played in over their heads.

McGrath missing two extra points in the previous three games can’t be ignored, and neither can Brooks’ inconsistencies. It’s likely they fall back to those issues in the next couple of games, although their veteran experience could change that a bit.

Running backs

Jabari Small is now injured, and we don’t know how long it’ll be before he’s 100 percent healthy. Jaylen Wright struggled to elude tackles in open space despite pretty good blocking early on in the game, and then he had a fumble in the second half. Those things offset his one touchdown run, which was somewhat meaningless.

Wright has huge issues in pass-blocking too, and those were on display Saturday. Because of that and the fact that Tennessee football may be stuck with him as the feature back for a while, this is a stock as a unit that’s likely going to get worse.
