Tennessee vs Duke NCAA Tournament Round 2: How to watch, odds and predictions for March Madness
By Blake Wyman
In today’s highly anticipated NCAA Tournament second-round matchup, Tennessee basketball clashes with the Duke Blue Devils.
Tennessee enters this game as the 4-seed and will play against the ACC champion 5-seeded Duke Blue Devils in round 2 of the NCAA Tournament. Even though the Vols are a better seed, Duke is favored to win this game, and it’s easy to see why.
Duke is considered to be one of the hottest teams in basketball right now and is being picked by a ton of people to win the whole Tournament. However, the Vols finally found their stride, and with the loss to 1-seed Purdue, the path to the Elite Eight is much easier if the Volunteers pull off the upset.

Odds and predictions
Tennessee vs. Duke will likely be a tight matchup this afternoon, and the Vols will fight for the entire game like they always do. Many people predict that Duke will win, but I don’t see it this way. Duke has a slightly better AdjO efficiency (42nd vs. 49th). Still, the Vols are much better in AdjD efficiency (2nd vs. 24th), according to KenPom. Even though the Volunteers are without star Point guard Zakai Zeigler, the Vols matchup exceptionally well against the Blue Devils. They will take care of business, moving on to the Sweet 16.
Fanduel has the odds listed at +135 for the Vols at the time of this article, and that is right around where it should be. Duke has been playing like the better team recently, and they are rightfully favored. However, I expect the Vols to work a little magic and take down Duke and move on to the next round.
My Pick: Tennessee Volunteers ML (+135) / Tennessee Volunteers +3.5 (-110).
