Former Tennessee Vols’ Star Grant Williams Dominated Game 4 of ECF
By Blake Wyman
Grant Williams’ remarkable performance in Game 4 of the ECF helped to keep the Celtics alive in their quest to the finals.
The Boston Celtics avoided a sweep by the Miami Heat last night with a 116-99 victory, thanks in no small part to the dominant performance of former Tennessee Vols’ star Grant Williams. Williams scored a series-high 14 points on 66% shooting from beyond the arc while also grabbing 6 rebounds and dishing out 2 assists. The win now puts the Celtics in a position to crawl back from being down 3-1, a feat that has never been accomplished in NBA history. The odds are certainly stacked against the Celtics, as no team in NBA history has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit to win a series. However, with players like Williams stepping up and delivering when it matters most, anything is possible.
Will Grant Williams help Ease Pressure on the Celtics in Game 5?
Grant Williams’ ability to step up and deliver in Game 4 could not have come at a better time for the Boston Celtics. With star players like Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart, and Jaylen Brown struggling to find their rhythm, Williams’ impressive performance provided a much-needed spark for the team. By scoring a series-high 14 points on 66% shooting from beyond the arc, Williams showed that he has the skills and determination to make a significant impact on the game.
While Williams is normally more of a role player on the Celtics’ roster, his ability to step up and deliver in clutch situations could be a game-changer. By taking some of the pressure off of the team’s star players and providing them with a reliable scoring option, Williams could help to ease the burden and allow Tatum, Smart, and Brown to play with more confidence. If Williams can continue to play at a high level in Game 5 and beyond, it could be a huge boost for the Celtics’ playoff hopes.
