Fresh off a dominant win over Furman, there's no time to rest for Josh Heupel and Tennessee, as a trip to Atlanta is on the way next. While the Vols looked superb in Week 1 against the Paladins, Georgia Tech will present a whole different kind of opponent, looking to make things tough for the Vols on both sides of the ball.
With that, there are still some unknowns facing this team, but several questions are going to get answered this weekend against an ACC foe. To start us off, let's take a look at the offensive line and if a big change will be on the way come Saturday.
3. Will Sam Pendleton immediately start after his one-game suspension?
When starting center Sam Pendleton was nowhere to be seen on the field against Furman, eyebrows were raised. It was since revealed that Pendleton was arrested and charged with a DUI earlier this year, leading to a one-game suspension to open the new campaign.
In Week 2, will Heupel start him vs. Georgia Tech, or will he still have him miss a series or two? Heupel told reporters that Pendleton will be 'ready to go' against Georgia Tech, but still, the door remains open for him to still potentially miss some time. That'd be a surprise, though. If it does happen, Nic Moore would be expected to get the start once again.
2. How will Faizon Brandon be able to handle his first road game?
Faizon Brandon quite literally could not have had a better start to his career with the Vols, tossing for three touchdowns and adding two more on the ground. That was against an FCS school - things are going to be quite different for him against the Yellow Jackets.
This is going to be the first real test for him, and playing in front of the GT fans is not going to be easy, as they're going to hope to rattle him from start to finish. It will be on the true freshman signal-caller to silence the outside noise. While no one should expect him to post similar numbers to what everyone saw against Furman (294 total yards), there's reason to believe the 5-star youngster can live up to the hype and produce at a high level once again.
1. How many carries will DeSean Bishop end with against Georgia Tech?
There's no reason for the rushing attack not to be a MAJOR focus for the Vols against the Yellow Jackets. Colorado doesn't have the same level of talent for its RBs room or offensive line, yet Deion Sanders' team still managed to rush for nearly 200 yards against Georgia Tech.
The blueprint has been set for Tennessee, and DeSean Bishop is going to be the main beneficiary of things once kickoff arrives. Bishop needs to get the pigskin in his hands early and often in Week 2, with 20-25 carries being a fair amount to predict for him. Keep in mind his career high for carries is 24, so a new top mark, plus 120-140 yards, could be on the way for him.
