The Tennessee Volunteers are back in action and the vibes in Knoxville could not be better. Tennessee is the No. 7 team in the land and the recruiting wins for Josh Heupel and his staff have created a buzz all over the country - yeah, things have been epic.
Come Saturday night, the lowly Kentucky Wildcats are in town and to say things are going rough for that program would be an understatement. Mark Stoops is on the hot seat and countless people all over the state want him fired.
His brother Bob Stoops is ignoring all of that. The legendary coach has dropped his Week 10 picks and he doesn't care about the Vols looking like one of the top teams in the SEC. That's right, the former Oklahoma head man is picking the Wildcats to post a monster upset:
Bob Stoops picks Kentucky to beat Tennessee for an absurd reason
"Well I gotta take Kentucky, because my brother is the coach there. So if you're betting, you better take that into consideration if you're taking my pick."Bob Stoops
So, he's going against the No. 7 squad because he doesn't want there to be some awkwardness at Christmas dinner this year? Come on, coach! In all seriousness, at least Bob Stoops was kind enough to admit he's only picking the Wildcats because of his brother, but the fact of the matter here is that he probably knows the Vols are going to put on a show against Kentucky.
He's also quite familiar with Heupel, as the Tennessee head coach was a star quarterback for Oklahoma during his college days, helping the Sooners win the National Championship in 2000. That was the only natty for Bob Stoops, who also posted 10 Big 12 titles while in Norman.
Come Saturday night, Tennessee will take the field as huge favorites and it'd be a downright shocker if they don't win by at least double digits. Mark Stoops is going to try and power his team to an upset, but it's not going to happen. Look for the Vols to be electric at Neyland Stadium.
