It just hasn't been a fun week for Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin. Not long ago, Kiffin was whining to reporters about LSU getting another night game in front of its hometown fans. With Georgia coming up on Nov. 9, Kiffin was hoping his team would be able to try and post an upset under the bright lights.
Instead, that's not the case and he's not happy about things - he wants his team to have the night time, home-field advantage. Well, that's the case for the Tennessee Volunteers, as they're hosting Kentucky for a late kickoff at Neyland Stadium this Saturday night.
Mark Stoops didn't waste any time on the SEC teleconference to have a totally different take than Kiffin. Stoops sarcastically said he's thankful for another late start and it's a lot of fun for him. Sure sounds like Stoops is already making excuses for an upcoming loss, right? Well, his comments probably didn't sit well with Kiffin, who also isn't loving the recent schedules from the conference.
Mark Stoops and Kentucky already looked worried about playing Tennessee
At the end of the day, both Stoops and Kiffin are facing uphill climbs in those respective matchups, though Stoops vs. Tennessee is this weekend. Ole Miss is an underdog going up against Kirby Smart and Georgia for Nov. 9, easily one of the best teams in the country. UGA has another natty in mind.
The Wildcats always have issues going up against Tennessee, especially when this rivalry contest is being played in Knoxville. The Vols have all the confidence in the world right now, as Josh Heupel and Co. are 6-1 on the season and the No. 7 team in the country.
Neyland Stadium is going to be full of fans ready to rattle Stoops and the Kentucky offense whenever the Wildcats are in possession. It could prove to be a long night for Kentucky as a whole, while a lopsided win could be on the way for the Vols. Yeah, that doesn't sound too fun at all, does it Mr. Stoops?
