The transfer decision has come in for former Tennessee Vols safety Boo Carter and it's no question a move that plenty of people had a feeling would be on the way. Last year when rumors were flying that Carter was going to enter the portal, Colorado immediately jumped out as a team to watch.

Then over the summer with preseason drama arriving, Carter was once again linked with a potential move to play for Deion Sanders. Fast forward to present time and that call has come in. Moments ago, Hayes Fawcett confirmed that Carter committed to Colorado. Yup, he's officially leaving SEC country to make plays in the Big 12:

Former Tennessee DB Boo Carter has committed to Deion Sanders and Colorado
After reportedly missing multiple team workouts this past summer, Carter was disciplined by Josh Heupel, which included him not starting the season-opener against Syracuse. The in-state playmaker never fully bounced back for the Vols this campaign and the two sides parted ways late in the year.
Not long ago, Carter also took a visit to Vanderbilt, with the Commodores looking to add him for their secondary. However, it felt like it was always written in the stars that Carter would head to Boulder to play for Sanders and his coaching staff.
He'll now look to take advantage of his fresh start after posting 25 total tackles, one sack and three forced fumbles in '25 with UT. As for Tennessee additions, Heupel has been busy making a splash in the portal himself, which of course included signing Chaz Coleman on Saturday.
The 5-star EDGE transfer had several powerhouses after him, but Heupel, with the help of Jim Knowles, was able to get things done there. Even more transfers should be on the way for people to get excited about. However, plenty of players from last season are also looking for new homes. We now know Carter will be Colorado-bound.
