Chris Brazzell II could end up helping Tennessee flip a 5-star Oregon commit

Brazzell's huge game vs. Georgia impressed the in-state speedster.

Over the weekend, Tennessee football wide receiver Chris Brazzell II put together one of the most electric performances anyone has seen in a long time. He was downright dazzling inside of Neyland Stadium despite the loss to Georgia, with more than 100,000 people watching closely.

The list included 5-star wide receiver Kesean Bowman, an in-state speedster who is currently committed to Oregon. After the game, though, Bowman didn't hesitate in telling Rivals' Chad Simmons that watching Brazzell put on a show like that 'stood out' to him. It sure seems like Tennessee as a whole has given him a lot to think about moving forward:

Another Tennessee commit loses his 5th star for absolutely no reason

Tennessee made an impact on Oregon commit Kesean Bowman during his visit

A 6-1, 175-pounder, Bowman committed to Oregon on July 24, choosing the Ducks over well over 30 other programs. He's a standout for the Brentwood Academy in Tennessee, which is about three hours away from Knoxville.

When Bowman first committed to Oregon, it stung for Josh Heupel and his staff, as losing an elite in-state prospect is something the Vols are always going to want to try and avoid. However, with Bowman being a 2027 playmaker, there's still loads of time for the Vols to change his mind.

That's why Heupel and Co. made it a priority to get him to town last weekend for his unofficial visit, especially with Georgia in town. Bowman got a close-up look at what Tennessee support is all about and it no question turned his head a bit.

So did the performance from Brazzell, who recorded six receptions for 177 yards and three touchdowns. Brazzell was a big play waiting to happen against Georgia and Joey Aguilar consistently put the ball on the money for him. Remember the talks of Heupel's offense not being good for development? Yeah, that's absurd.

This is something that the staff is communicating to Bowman and other targets they're hoping to land. For now, Bowman is going to be Eugene-bound for his college ball, but Heupel is hoping to have a say there. Will he end up flipping? After his weekend visit, it's something that can't be ruled out.
