David Gabriel Georges doing it all to help Vols forget about 5-star Savion Hiter miss

It seems like not too many days can pass by without Tennessee commit David Gabriel Georges giving the Vols faithful a reason to smile. During his season-opening scrimmage, he broke free for a 54-yard score that should still have people fired up. Fast forward to now, and he's looking like the Incredible Hulk in the weight room.

That's right, a video of the future Vol moving some serious iron has gone a bit viral, and the numbers will stun you. So, DGG is benching 375, cleaning 315, and more? It's impossible to watch the clip below and not be impressed with what he's doing!

Sometimes it's hard to believe that Georges is getting ready for his senior year of high school. He already looks ready to make an impact at the college level right now. And you know what, the recent buzz surrounding his name is made even better with Michigan running back Savion Hiter getting so much attention.

Why does that matter? As many of you recall, Hiter, a 5-star RB for the 2026 class, was down to Tennessee and Michigan late in his process. The Vols were making a serious push to get him to Knoxville, but in the end, the Wolverines won the recruiting battle. Thus far at fall camp, Hiter has looked nothing short of sensational, which might sting for some people.

However, what helps here is that DeSean Bishop is set to be one of the best running backs in the SEC next season, with another 1,000-yard campaign likely on the way for him. Hiter being with Tennessee would have been great, but Bishop is the No. 1 guy for this year, and he's got more eligibility if he wants to return next campaign too.

Hiter could have been the future RB1 at the position and been a stud for Josh Heupel for 3-4 years, but that's where Georges can come in and deliver. Tennessee did everything possible to beat out Ohio State for the '27 pledge, as those two powerhouses were putting in the most work to get things done.

Heupel got some big-time help there too, as it was reported that Georges agreed to a three-year NIL deal worth around $6 million. That's a lot of dough to turn down, with the power back also recently saying his recruitment is 100 percent shut down, and nothing will stop him from making things official with Tennessee once the Early Signing Period gets here.

That means it will be Bishop's show in 2026, and if he leaves for the NFL after this campaign, then all eyes will be on Georges to lead the way for the ground game as early as next fall. In a perfect world, though, Bishop and Georges could form a 1-2 punch that would terrify opposing defenses. And if that happens, then not having Hiter around will be meaningless. Either way, the Vols are set at the position for the long haul, with Georges, the No. 2 RB in the country for his class, having standout written all over him.
