Tennessee had a very successful NFL Draft, despite the fall of Jermod McCoy. The Vols will once again be well represented at the next level thanks to Josh Heupel's development. An under-the-radar addition was former Tennessee Vols tight end Miles Kitselman getting signed by the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent. Kitselmna had a solid career in college, racking up 50 catches for 572 yards and six touchdowns. Her aslo does stuff that doesn't show up on the box score, like being a gritty run blocker and

Detroit Lions expert Candace Pedraza gave some insight into the Lions' signing Kitselman. She said, "Detroit didn't really target any high-end tight ends in this year's draft, so it makes sense that they went for Kitselman as a UDFA. They need some additional depth at the position, especially with Sam LaPorta's injury woes. He could be a good practice squad addition."
Detroit could be a very good fit for former Vol Miles Kitselman
As Pedraza said, since the Lions didn't see tight end as a major need at the front of the draft, this paves a very good opportunity for Kitrslenman. Yes, Sam LaPorta is the No. 1 guy there, no doubt, but behind him, he can make his way up the depth chart. Brock Wright has proved he's a career backup, and Tyler Conklin is coming off a seven-reception season. Kitsleman will have to prove he's worthy of making the 53-man roster, but there is ample opportunity.
If there’s one thing Dan Campbell loves, it’s tough football players, and that’s exactly what he’s getting in Miles Kitselman. While Kitselman may not be the most athletically gifted player, he is a reliable route runner and willing blocker in the run game. This is a Dan Campbell guy, and while he may never be an NFL star, he has the skill set to help a team immensely at the next level. The Lions love to pound the rock with Jahmyr Gibbs, and he can help them achieve that. He can run the routes needed in play action, too, something the Lions love to use.
Miles Kitselman has established himself as a hard worker and now has an opportunity to further validate that reputation by competing for a spot on the Detroit Lions roster this fall.
