It just wasn't meant to be for Tennessee football and 5-star running back Savion Hiter. On Tuesday, there was a ton of hope that Hiter would end up committing to the Vols, but he spurned the SEC side to commit to the Michigan Wolverines instead.
Yes, it's a bummer for head man Josh Heupel, but it doesn't take away from the fact that this team has three other 5-star commits on board. Oh, and there's another playmaker who is still heavily linked to the program. That'd be LSU pledge Tristen Keys, who has been on 'flip watch' for a little while. The time is now for Heupel to pick up the recruiting efforts after missing out on Hiter.

Tennessee football must go all-in for Tristen Keys after missing out on Savion Hiter
While Hiter is a running back and Keys is a receiver, it doesn't change the fact that the latter can be an explosive playmaker for the UT offense down the road, especially with Faizon Brandon also on board. People have been dreaming of those two making plays for Tennessee in the future.
It's of course not going to be easy for that to happen, but Heupel is ready to keep on battling with Brian Kelly for his signature. Per Chad Simmons, Tennessee continues to make a strong push at trying to flip Keys from its SEC rival.
Keys, a 6-3 stud with the ball in his hands, surprised a lot of people when he shut down his recruitment in the first place and committed to LSU. Not long after that, he took multiple visits, including his eye-opening one to Tennessee.
He went rival after a video of him wearing a Vols jersey on his official made the rounds online. Brandon is doing everything he can to help UT pull this flip off. People are down in the dumps after Hiter picked Michigan, but those same people will quickly forget about that if Keys gives Heupel the news he's hoping for. Vols fans everywhere will keep their fingers crossed that will happen.
