This was supposed to be a breakout season for former Tennessee football standout Jalin Hyatt. After back-to-back rough seasons with the NY Giants, he busted his hump in the weight room, put on size and made it clear to the front office that he was taking things seriously ahead of Week 1.
Unfortunately, things just aren't working out for Hyatt in the Big Apple. On Thursday night, Hyatt caught a 27-yard touchdown pass from Jameis Winston which was great to see, but he had two drops earlier in the contest.
Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen seem to think of him as a big-play threat and not much more. Hyatt isn't being given the right opportunity to really excel at the next level and it doesn't help that Giants fans have been calling for him to get cut this summer. Could a trade end up being beneficial for both parties?
Where, exactly, does Jalin Hyatt want Jaxson Dart to put this ball? Walk it over to him and drop it in his hands?

Jalin Hyatt and the NY Giants seems to be a relationship that could end soon
Back during the 2023 NFL Draft, the G-Men traded up in the third round to land Hyatt - it was a move that fans were pretty excited about. Hyatt was coming off a huge season with the Vols, which led to him taking home Biletnikoff Award honors, which is given to the top wideout in the country.
Hyatt's first season didn't go to plan, however, as he couldn't get into any kind of a rhythm on offense with the Giants. Last season somehow went even worse for him and trade rumors started to fly. Hyatt didn't hold back in letting New York know how upset he was with his lack of usage too.
Looking ahead to this upcoming season, all signs are pointing to Hyatt once again being an overlooked member of the offense. Russell Wilson is the team's new starting quarterback, with him ready to build even more chemistry with Darius Slayton, Malik Nabers and others. Hyatt will be as patient as he can to get the ball in his hands, but time is running out. It's time for the Giants to send him somewhere he can actually make a difference. That is if they don't cut him first.
