Can't say we're too surprised by this. Last week, multiple reports dropped that ex-Tennessee football signal-caller Harrison Bailey was set to take an official visit to meet with the Florida coaching staff. This came after Bailey threw for Florida coaches.
Bailey spent the past two campaigns with Louisville, which included him powering the team to a bowl win over Washington out of nowhere. Bailey has one last season of college eligibility left and we now know where he'll be suiting up. On Monday, On3's Steve Wiltfong reported that Bailey has committed to Billy Napier and the Gators. He'll serve as DJ Lagway's backup in 2025:
QB Harrison Bailey has committed to play for the Florida Gators
Bailey signed with Tennessee as a member of the 2020 class. He was a superstar prospect, ranked four stars and the No. 3 pro-style quarterback in the country at the time when he inked with the Vols. However, after two seasons on campus, Bailey said goodbye to Knoxville.
He then made the move to Sin City to play for the UNLV Rebels. Bailey spent one season there before ultimately making his way to Louisville. Now, he's going to be suiting up for his fourth college program, as his next stop indeed will be Florida.
With Lagway being a freshman phenom for the Gators in 2024, Bailey will be his QB2. Should something end up happening with Lagway, Bailey will be the first QB off the bench to step in for the Florida offense. Tennessee supporters were pretty excited when Bailey helped Louisville take down Washington this winter, but he won't have many people cheering for Florida with him suiting up for the Gators.
