The Boston Celtics are somehow down 0-2 to the New York Knicks after being up by at least 20 points in both contests. Since then, people have been racing to bash Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Browns. Former Tennessee Vols star Grant Williams has seen enough.

While Williams is now in Charlotte and no longer suiting up for the Celtics, he is clearly sick of all the hate that's being sent in the direction of both Brown and Tatum following some pretty bad defensive lapses. With that said, have people forgotten that these two helped Boston win the NBA Finals last season? People are quick to forget and Williams decided to clap back at the haters a bit in a recent social media post:

Former Celtics PF Grant Williams is sick of the Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown hate

Williams spent four seasons with Boston after the Celtics took him as a first-round pick back in the 2022 NBA Draft. He got to know both Brown and Tatum pretty well during his time with the Celtics, which is why he's so quick to defend his former teammates.

The fact of the matter here is that Boston is in an 0-2 hole and this really shouldn't be the case. The Celtics fully choked things away against the Knicks in both of those losses, but the amount of disrespect being sent towards the Boston stars is egregious.

Williams makes a great point too. Are two losses to New York really going to make people forget what the two were able to accomplish less than a year ago? This series isn't over yet and some loud-mouthed folks are acting like Brown and Tatum are responsible for the C's season coming to a close.

There's still a lot of game action left in this series, with Brown and Tatum no question motivated to respond in a big way with New York getting ready to host them at Madison Square Garden on Saturday. Should Boston turn things around, Williams, a former Vols fan favorite, will be quick to tell people 'I told you so' with a smile on his face.
