This just makes things sting even worse, doesn't it? When it was revealed that Tennessee legend Jason Witten was taking the tight ends job at Oklahoma, people couldn't believe it. The thought of him donning a different program's colors just doesn't feel right.
Tennessee loses transfer commit to Baylor in portal twist that will infuriate Josh Heupel
On Friday, things reached another low for the Tennessee faithful who aren't excited that Witten has made the move to Norman. That's because news broke that Tennessee tight end transfer Jack Van Dorselaer is making the move from Knoxville to Oklahoma. That's right, he has committed to play for Witten and OU head man Brent Venables:

Former Tennessee TE Jack Van Dorselaer will play for Jason Witten at Oklahoma
On paper, this isn't going to be a massive loss for the Vols, as Van Dorselaer was barely featured at all on offense last year. He finished the season with five receptions for 23 yards and a touchdown. He also had a drop vs. Oklahoma on 4th down that had people ripping their hair out.
Despite that, it's important to keep in mind that Van Dorselaer was just a true freshman and the hope was that he'd have a long and successful career with the Vols. Instead, he decided to leave town after just one season and Witten will be the one to coach him up moving forward.
Coming out of high school, Van Dorselaer was ranked four stars, the No. 18 athlete in the country and No. 50 prospect overall from Texas. The potential is there for him to be a stud at the college level, but it's now going to be on Witten to help transform his game.
For Tennessee, losing a player via the transfer portal, especially a true freshman, is something head man Josh Heupel never wants to see. Losing that player to an SEC foe is always going to hurt, but now that Witten is involved, it just feels like a bit of a gut punch for UT.
