Next up for Tennessee football is a Week 4 clash with UAB on Saturday. It's still going to take a little bit more time for people to get over the devastating loss to Georgia on Saturday - it was there for the taking, but the Vols couldn't execute properly to close things out.
Despite the loss, the rest of the country has learned what everyone in Knoxville already knew: Joey Aguilar is a certified baller. He put on a show in the loss to the Dawgs and it looks like Sin City is seeing what he's capable of. Entering the game, Aguilar had +4700 odds to win the Heisman. That's no longer the case, as the Vegas oddsmakers now have him at 1600.

No SEC QB in the last 20 YEARS has gone 14-for-14 (or better) in a single quarter… until JOEY AGUILAR 🏈 pic.twitter.com/xsNYcqG9Qv
Joey Aguilar now holds +1600 odds to win the Heisman Trophy this season
For most of the game, Aguilar and the Tennessee offense was sensational. The veteran quarterback tossed for 371 yards and four touchdowns, while adding another score on the ground. Five total touchdowns against one of the top teams in the nation? Yup.
It was almost a life-changing day for Aguilar, but again, an overtime loss was posted by the Vols. That's a game the locker room has flushed, as the full focus is now on the Blazers. Neyland Stadium will once again be rockin' and Aguilar will look to put up even more big numbers.
In terms of the Heisman, Carson Beck is the favorite at +800, while John Mateer is right behind him at +900. Gunner Stockton is at +1100, Jeremiah Smith is +1200, Dante Moore is +1300 and then Aguilar, Marcel Reed and Julian Sayin are tied at +1600.
There's still a lot of season left and Aguilar has a bit of work to do to become a finalist. However, he is throwing the ball all over the field early on and Tennessee proved against Georgia that it can hang with anyone. If Aguilar keeps on playing at a high level against top teams in SEC play, we very well could end up seeing his odds keep improving. He's the real deal and analysts are taking notice.
