Tennessee softball was able to get out of the Knoxville Regional unscathed to book its ticket to Super Regionals for the fourth year in a row. Head coach has done a fantastic job at keeping her team at a high level year in and year out, but he also knows it isn't easy.
Tennessee has also been to the Women's College World Series two times in the last four years, and it is hoping to make it three this season. Right now, standing in the way of the Vols and a second straight trip to the College World Series is the Georgia Bulldogs, and Weekly knows just how crucial this weekend is.
In an interview talking about the upcoming series against the SEC opponent, Weekly was candid about her thoughts about how challenging the Super Regional round is, knowing everything that is at stake.
"I think people can dissect matchups and figure out who's stronger and who's this; everybody's strong, like everybody's good. You get to Super Regionals because you have something in every facet of the game," Weekly said. "The really challenging weekend is Supers to get yourself to OKC."

Karent Weekly sees a tough matchup for Tennessee with Georgia up in Super Regionals
With so many SEC teams making it to Regionals and, in turn, Super Regionals, many are now facing each other, but the interesting bit is that the matchups aren't ones from the regular season. Tennessee is taking on SEC foe Georgia in the Super Regionals, but the two teams did not meet in the regular season.
That doesn't mean Weekly hasn't done her homework on the Bulldogs. The Tennessee head coach sees a tough battle ahead for the Vols, especially after seeing Georgia take out Oklahoma in the SEC Tournament.
Weekly sees Georgia as a very complete team in every phase of the game, hitting, fielding, and pitching. Tennessee faced a similar battle against Nebraska last season in Super Regionals, and Weekly believes it could be the same against the Bulldogs.
Obviously, Weekly and the entire Tennessee softball team are hoping for the same outcome as last season, where the Vols are standing up at the end with the Women's College World Series ticket in their hands. Star pitcher and recent No. 1 overall pick in the AUSL Draft, Karlyn Pickens, will be tasked with keeping the Georgia hitters in check.
As long as Tennessee can keep their bats hot as they did in the Knoxville Regional, a ticket in their hands at the hand is very attainable. Tennessee will begin its series against Georgia on Thursday, May 21, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN2. Game 2 is set for a 3:00 p.m. ET start time on Friday, May 22, on ESPN2 as well, and Game 3 on Saturday if needed.
