We are only two days away from Tennessee football taking on Oklahoma and this is now a must-win game for the Vols. With a win, the Vols will send a statement and have people believing a trip to the College Football Playoff will be on the way.
Josh Heupel being linked to head coach opening is more absurd than it sounds
With a loss - we don't even want to think about it. That's why the status of cornerback Colton Hood has been a major topic of conversation this week. He exited the Kentucky game with an injury and no one knew if he'd be good to go for Week 10 or not. Thankfully, Hood is off the injury report and he'll be ready to rock for this one:

GOOD NEWS FOR THE VOLS 🔥 pic.twitter.com/0zMpddp3WV
Tennessee CB Colton Hood is off the injury report and ready to go vs. Oklahoma
We don't have to tell you that Tim Banks must be incredibly relieved that Hood, one of his starting cornerbacks, will be playing. The Tennessee secondary has been decimated by injuries this season and it's clearly had a negative impact overall for the squad.
Jermod McCoy was back at practice on a limited basis, but he's not going to be given the green light to play against the Sooners. Could we see him take the field vs. New Mexico State following the bye week? That'd be remarkable if it happens, as he could help the Vols push for the CFP.
While he remains out, Hood and freshman Ty Redmond are the ones locking down the spots at CB. Opposing teams have been lighting up the scoreboard against the Tennessee defense and there's worry that John Mateer and Oklahoma will be able to do more of the same this weekend.
Everyone at Neyland Stadium will be working their magic to make life difficult for Mateer and Co., as a night game is on the way and the energy is going to be off the charts. It's going to be on the Tennessee defense to respond to that energy and the good news here is that Hood will be among those ready to make an impact in this highly-anticipated showdown.
