Miami flipping another former 4-star Tennessee commit shouldn't surprise anyone

Unfortunately, this is a move that was in the works throughout the month. When it comes to 4-star wide receiver Tyran Evans, he was originally supposed to play his college ball in Knoxville, having previously committed to Tennessee football.

However, the Miami Hurricanes and Mario Cristobal picked up their recruiting efforts and got him on campus for an official visit. On June 13, the speedster made his way to Coral Gables for what proved to be a fun two-day stay over in south Florida.

By the time June 18 arrived, Evans decided that he didn't want to stay on the commits list for the Vols, officially backing off his pledge. Fast forward to June 25 and Evans took things one step further, flipping his verbal from UT to Miami. Yup, not a shocker at all.

4-star WR Tyran Evans officially flipped from Tennessee to Miami football

This of course isn't the first time that Cristobal has reeled in a former Tennessee verbal, as 4-star DL Tyson Bacon committed to Tennessee, backed off that pledge and then revealed that he's going to be suiting up for the Hurricanes once the 2026 season gets here. Sound familiar?

Cristobal is starting to become a bit of a pain for Vols fans. Evans flew a bit under the radar this cycle, but Tennessee grabbed his commitment early and a lot of us thought that he was 100 percent locked in with his decision. That didn't turn out to be the case, with Miami working fast to change his mind.

All will be forgotten for Tennessee and head man Josh Heupel if the Vols can somehow land 5-star wideout Tristen Keys. Ranked the No. 1 WR in the country, Keys has left the door open to change his mind, as he's currently LSU-bound.

However, Tennessee is going all-in on him, with 5-star QB Faizon Brandon also working overtime with the recruiting efforts. Funny enough, Miami is also in on Keys. Some sweet revenge would be posted if Keys ultimately decides to play for Tennessee. It'd be a game-changing move for the program, no doubt.
