In what has proven to be an electric start to the Early Signing Period, Josh Heupel has Tennessee fans buzzing with some of the late moves he's been able to get done. Is there one more earth-shattering one on the way for him before things get wrapped up on Friday?

That's what a lot of people are thinking could be the case when it comes to running back Savion Hiter, a 5-star prospect out of Virginia. Hiter was previously down to Michigan and Tennessee, but he gave the Wolverines his pledge earlier this year.

Despite that, plenty of eyebrows have been raised with the fact that Hiter has not signed with the Big Ten powerhouse on Wednesday (as of this writing). According to On3's EJ Holland, Hiter is still 'on track' to sign, but there's a bit of a holdup. Will this open the door for Heupel to get in one final pitch?

5-star RB Savion Hiter is yet to sign with Michigan and Tennessee fans are dreaming

We don't want to speculate on what's holding things up with Hiter, but plenty of eyebrows have been raised with the fact that he still hasn't officially signed with Michigan. Usually when there's a delay like this, it means that another program is hoping to change his mind.

College football fans have seen this with 5-star Chris Henry Jr. pushing things back with Ohio State, as Oregon and USC are doing what they can to flip him. Heupel has already flipped three recruits on Wednesday, with JJ Finch (Alabama), Legend Bey (Ohio State) and Carter Gooden (UCLA) all making the switch to the Vols.

Unfortunately for Heupel, he has also seen 4-star athlete Salesi Moa commit to Utah after previously being Knoxville-bound. However, could that loss lead to him going all-in to steal Hiter away from Michigan due to some extra NIL funds?

Again, it's up in the air how things might go down here, but don't forget that Hiter was once fully torn between Michigan and Tennessee. If there's even a small chance for Heupel to get him to make plays for him in 2026 and beyond, you've got to figure he'll do whatever is needed to make that happen.
