SEC refs completely missed Oklahoma being offsides on wild TD vs Tennessee

You've got to be kidding.

It feels like there's always some drama when it comes to officials on the call for an SEC game. Once again, this was the case with Tennessee football in action and head man Josh Heupel can't be happy about this at all.

Joey Aguilar named On3's most underrated player of October

In the first quarter of the matchup between the Vols and Oklahoma at Neyland Stadium, the place was silenced when quarterback Joey Aguilar was lit up and he fumbled the ball, which was picked up by R Mason Thomas who took it all the way back to the house for an incredible touchdown. However, as you'll be able to see in the clip below, Thomas was fully offsides and the team in stripes somehow missed it. Just unacceptable:

The R Mason Thomas TD for Oklahoma should have been negated by an offsides call

What are they even looking at? It's clear as day. Thomas' hand appeared to be over the line and maybe even his helmet too. Watching that clip from the Los Sooners team is disappointing for so many different reasons.

On this particular drive, the Vols were moving the chains and looked to be in a spot to add some more points on the board. At minimum, this was a 10-point swing, as Tennessee was well within range for Max Gilbert to try and put a kick through the uprights.

Instead, no laundry hit the turf and Thomas posted a touchdown that he's never going to forget. He got injured on the play too, suffering a hamstring injury on his long run. At the time, it tied things up for the Sooners, but again, it should have never counted. We're not even convinced he was able to stay in bounds on his way to the end zone.

We hate to be critical of the officials, but if this is something people can spot from their homes on their couch, how are they missing this on the field in such a big moment of the game? We're getting tired of the SEC refs making so many consistent mistakes like this.
